WORLD AIDS DAY
Here are some tips on HIV/AIDS: Prevention 1. Practice safe sex: Use condoms consistently and correctly to reduce the risk of HIV transmission. 2. Get tested: Know your HIV status and get tested regularly, especially if you’re sexually active. 3. Avoid sharing personal items: Don’t share razors, toothbrushes, or other personal items that may have come into contact with blood or bodily fluids. Transmission 1. HIV is not spread through: Casual contact, such as hugging, kissing, or sharing food and drinks. 2. HIV is spread through: Unprotected sex, sharing needles or syringes, and mother-to-child transmission during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding. Treatment 1. The virus can be suppressed by taking some combination therapy consistently and you will live healthy if you do. 2. Adherence: Adhering to treatment regimens is crucial to managing HIV and preventing transmission. 3. Regular check-ups: Regular health check-ups are essential to monitor the effectiveness of treatment and address any concerns. Stigma and Support 1. Break the stigma: Educate yourself and others about HIV/AIDS to reduce stigma and promote understanding. 2. Support networks: Connect with support networks, such as HIV/AIDS organizations, to access resources, counseling, and community. 3. Disclose your status: Disclose your HIV status to your healthcare provider, sexual partners, and others who may need to know. Remember, HIV/AIDS is a manageable condition with proper treatment and care. By taking preventive measures, getting tested, and seeking support, you can reduce your risk of infection and promote a healthier community. Remember also, HIV no de show for face. Na why you need to de kiaful. Na when HIV don become AIDS, na from there wahala don come. Dr. Duke Onoriode UDHEKRU PRO, Edo NMA
